We will make an early morning departure from Marrakech to cross the High Atlas Mountains with a short stop for coffee and to visit the argan oil cooperative. We will visit UNESCO World Heritage site, Ait Ben Haddou and the Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate (known also for it's movies studios). After lunch in Ouarzazate, we will travel over the Anti Atlas mountains, via the Berber villages of Agdz and the amazing Draa Valley. We will have dinner and spend the night in a traditional riad in Zagora.
After breakfast we will visit the the original town of the 16th century dynasty (Saadian), Tamgroute, to visit the old Koran library and to see the ceramics the area is famous for. We arrive to the Saharan village of Mhamid before taking the off-road track to Erg Chegaga to ride the camels into the desert to see the sunset on top of the dunes. We will have a traditional tagine dinner, drink delicious mint tea, listen to traditional berber music while watching the stars and the rising moon in the amazing Sahara desert. We will spend the night in a traditional nomad tent.
Early morning wake up in order to ride camels to the top of the dunes for a beautiful sunrise and panoramic desert horizon before making our way back to the hotel for breakfast and a shower. We will then follow the old Paris Dakar road to Foum Zguid, crossing the dry lake of Iriqui. We will have lunch in the berber village of Taznakht which is very known for it's original artisan weaving carpets. Then continuing to Marrakech to arrive early evening.
