Atlas Hiking & Desert itinerary is one of the perfect mixture for aspirants’ hikers. Climbing the highest peak in North Africa Toubkal 4167m and exploring Sahara Desert.

Atlas Hiking & Desert is a challenge to Climb Toubkal 4167m in 2-3 days and crossing the Atlas Mountain to the southern flanks to Desert all through, flourishing high valleys around the roof of Africa to some of the most contrasting and varied landscapes of South eastern, impressive canyons, Kasbahs, Oasis and stunning Sahara sand dunes.

Atlas Hiking & Desert itinerary start from Marrakech to High Atlas Toubkal Massif, hiking from Imlil for the ascent in 2 days then a trip by jeep to the south via Tizi-N-Tichka in the Caravan road from Telouet Valley to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah paasing by Ouarzazate to the road of thousand Kasbahs, to the canyons of Dades and Todra before arriving to Merzouga highest sand dunes in Morocco, the way back to Marrakech via the volcano Massif Saghro and the longest valleys Draa before paasing again by Ouarzazate and the road to the red town.

Day One Marrakech - Imlil - Refuge.

Marrakech – Imlil 1740m meet the guide and the team for climbing Toubkal – 5h30 hiking to the refuge toubkal 3207m. lunch at the shrine of Sidi Chamharouch 2500m. 2h hiking from Imlil. Overnight in the refuge.

Day Two Refuge - Summit Toubkal - Imlil

An early start to catch sunrise from the summit of Toubkal, passing by the river into the south circle above the refuge and climb through an avalanche of boulders rocks (it’s a challenging walk rather than a climb) then straightforward between giant rocks where the altitude will make steps very difficult in few parts before reaching the plateau from where you can enjoy the first lights of the sunset on the surrounding peaks above 4000m, a short walk to the summit with a panoramic views on each side of the mountain before finding ourselves on the top of north Africa after 3 hours walking, a beautiful view in every direction (to the north the plain of Marrakech and the northern valleys, lake villages, to the south Anti Atlas & Sahara), descending same way to the refuge which takes 2hours, lunch/rest then 3 hours 30mn walking down to Imlil retracing our steps over night in Imlil at guest house.

Day Three Imlil - Atlas Mountains - Roses Valley

By 4x4 Imlil – Tahenouet – Tizi Tichka Lunch in Telouet Kasbahs- Ait Ben Haddou Roses Valley. Night in a guest house

Day Four Roses Valley - Dades/Todra Gorges - Merzouga

Roses Valley – Dades & Todra canyons – Erfoud – off-road of Dakar to Merzouga meet the team for the trip in the desert, 5pm riding camels or hiking to the camp 2h to Oasis & overnight.

Day Five Merzouga - Risani - Nkob

Hiking or riding back to Merzouga –Errissani visite of one of the oldest Market and kasbah in the south – Saghro massif nomads villages – over night at the capital of Nomads Nkob in a Kasbah.

Day Six Nkob - Draa Valley - Marrakech.

N’kob – Draa valley – Agdez ville halt of caravans –Ouarzazate lunch – back to Marrakech
