Point A Pick Up & Drive Through desert hills

Start your Ouzoud waterfalls day trip with a pick-up from your hotel. Hop inside your air-conditioned vehicle and enjoy the views as you travel northeast to the village of Tanaghmeilt in the Atlas Mountains. Drive through desert hills past palm groves and old villages. As you travel, listen to fascinating facts about the Ouzoud Falls. Visit the Ouzoud Waterfalls (Cascades d'Ouzoud), one of the most surprising attractions in Morocco, on a full-day tour from Marrakech. Located approximately 90 miles (150 kilometers) northeast of the city, the falls are close to the Atlas Mountains village of Tanaghmeilt and take their name from the Berber for “grinding grain.”

Point B Arrival in Ouzoud & Meet the Guide

Upon arrival, you will see the river plunge 300 feet (100 meters) in a complex network of waterfalls that cascade one into another through 3 major and several minor drops. The impressive roar soothes the soul like an old lullaby. See wildlife, include monkeys that roam the trees and water. They are not completely wild creatures and are used to humans being around, which means they may not respect your personal boundaries, so it’s best to enjoy them from a distance.

Point C Hike, Lunch & Return to Marrakech

Enjoy an afternoon in the cafes or restaurants that line the paths near the base of the falls, or bring your own lunch and have a serene picnic by the water. A picnic near the ponds or along the edge of the falls is a great way to relax and soak in all the natural beauty around you—this is a favourite way for many Morocco travelers to refuel when visiting here as it keeps you closer to nature.
